Why Get a Full Mouth Reconstruction?
The first question you need to ask yourself when deciding if this is the path you want to take is: Why are you doing this? There is no right or wrong answer. This is a long-term investment that should not be chosen impulsively. We can break down the possible goals for dental work into three categories.- Esthetic Goals: Do you have confidence issues due to crooked or crowded teeth? Maybe you’ve already had different restorations from different dentists and they don’t match.
- Health Goals: Are you losing a battle to periodontal disease? Maybe you’ve even had your teeth extracted and replaced due to the disease or have a case of TMD that’s not easily fixable.
- Functional Goals: Do you deal with missing teeth or poor alignment? Maybe your jaw is starting to shift and change due to lost teeth, and it’s too late to stop it.
The Reconstruction Process
Due to the nature of a full mouth reconstruction, you can expect the process to span over the course of a few months. However, this is the outline of what you can expect your experience with East Village Dental to look like.
Initial Consultation:
You will first need to schedule a consultation with our dentists. During these consultations, our dentists will discuss the main concerns and goals for the procedure. They will walk you through how quickly you can expect to see changes in your smile. Be ready to answer questions about your dental health and medical history. This, coupled with a comprehensive oral, neck, and head examination, will help our dentist to create a good plan for you and your specific smile needs. We will also take some impressions and x-rays of your mouth to help show us what might be invisible to the eye.Creating the Treatment Plan:
After you and our dentist have landed on an outcome you both like, they will walk you through a detailed plan of what your procedure and treatments will look like. The procedures could include any of the following:- TMJ treatment.
- Root canal therapy.
- Periodontal treatment.
- Orthodontic treatment.
- Corrective jaw surgery.
- Removal of damaged or infected teeth.
- Placement of implant-supported dentures.
- Placement of dental crowns, veneers, or implants.
- And more.
Time for the Treatments:
Your full mouth reconstruction will happen in different stages and will require many office appointments. We will spread out your timeline over several months in order to help the healing process and the cost of the procedures. Our expert dental team will be with you every step of the way to help you through the process and answer any and all questions you may have.Every Treatment Is Unique
